Chores Overview

 

This list applies to both the Old Cabin and the New Cabin.

Every Visit

  • Gather, cut and/or stack wood

  • Clean up sticks, pine needles and leaves around yard

 Seasonal

  • Put water in or drain cabins. Rule of thumb: Water in after April 1,  water out by Nov. 1.

  • Put up or take down storm windows on old cabin (these are stored under the bed on the sleeping porch)

  • Shovel snow off roof and decks

Once a Year

  • Paint decks

  • Paint one exterior wall, rotating so that by every 4th year, the whole cabin has been done.

  • Haul piles to the dump or burn. (There is a burn permit in the drawer that holds the stereo equipment in the old cabin.)

  • Clean out debris from upper spring

  • Check water line on lower spring

  • Clear trails along both the lower and upper spring lines

As Needed

  • Haul garbage to dump (open Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday)

  • Clean windows

  • Clean bathroom/shower

  • Mop floor/vacuum

  • Clean out rain gutters on both cabins

  • Remove perishables and garbage from refrigerator
